Businesses travel customers, who on not being able to take their laptops as carry-on luggage on flights to or from London, hit the airport's bookstores which translated into a significant rise in book sales.

Popular selling titles included Freakonomics and The World Is Flat.

Whether travelers could take the books on planes or whether they read them during the long waits still made books the activity of choice to fill those travel hours.
