Children's Day

June 9th is Children's Day. How and where it will be celebrated will take many forms.

Being a book lover I wanted to think about children and books. I remember my own discovery of books and those stories that became lifelong favourites. So I would like to offer my congratulations to the librarian at The Donnell Central Children's Room in Manhattan. She's gone online with an extremely entertaining blog about children's books that is filled with perceptive thoughts. A Fuse #8 Production includes book reviews, opinions about publishing news, and lots of links.

As for me ... my favourite children's book read remains The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams, part of which can be found here, complete with illustrations.

But wait a minute ... there is Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak and Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss and ... so many more ...
